Almost
For years they almost met. They went to the same community college, but Joy arrived just as David left. Both went on to Cal Poly Pomona and crossed the same campus walkways without ever noticing each other — even after David started adding Joy to Coptic Club meetings.
Hello at St. Monica
Years later, with Joy in the final months of her clinical year and David a few years into his work, they finally ended up in the same place at the same time: a Coptic Tuesday Night meeting at St. Monica. They said hello and smiled, still completely unaware of each other.
One text
The very next day, God intervened through their phones: Instagram suggested Joy to David as a mutual friend. One text was sent, and they've been inseparable ever since.
